OCEANTOKENS CLEANUP UPDATE
Over the past few years, the world has woken up to hurrifying headlines about sea life that has unfortunately died to consuming or being trapped by the waste we throw in the Oceans.
Every year, 8 million tons of plastic enter the ocean. That’s equivalent to one truckload dumped into the sea every minute of the day. From there, it goes on a long and destructive journey. “The plastic that enters the ocean can be carried vast distances by currents to all parts of the world, including remote Antarctica and the Mariana trench, the deepest place on Earth. Along the way, it infiltrates ecosystems and causes untold harm to marine life.
Yet despite the scale of this problem, global plastic production continues, placing the oceans at ever-increasing risk.
Currently, we successfully carried out a cleanup operation in Indonesia, which has positively affected the riverbodies making the rivers a pleasurable place to reside for aquatic habitants. Here is a view on our progress and impact created in Indonesia.
Totally, another 309 KG of trash cleaned up from Padang river in Indonesia 🌊♻️
We are stopping at nothing to maintain and develop new ways of cleaning through Blockchain technology and community.
Here are some ideas we will put in work soon 🔜
- NFT collections ( listed on Stellar Lite) that in total represents a new river barrier in a specific location 🚧
- Campaign through Stellar projects in search of investors that can finance entirely a new river barrier and get their logo displayed on the barrier and monthly updates about the amount of trash collected. We won’t fail to keep our community updated on recent developments and achievements.
